Neonatal Matron

Applications are invited for a Neonatal Matron to work within our neonatal unit.
We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic leader to join our neonatal nursing team. They must be passionate about delivering and supporting the team to provide high quality care to neonates and their families.
They will link closely with the Maternity and Children's services in order to ensure care is provided in the right setting for the neonate and in partnership with the family.
This is an exciting time to join the Basildon team in a spacious modern local neonatal unit.
We have achieved Bronze Award in our progress to full Bliss Accreditation.
We strive to provide high quality, safe and effective care and are looking for someone with the vision, skill and enthusiasm to help take the unit forward.
We have Stage 1 BFI and continue to work towards stage 2.
As a Neonatal Matron, you will have experience in ward management and acting as a professional role model, to provide strong visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. The Matron role also leads in infection control.
You will possess excellent organisational, communication and team working skills, and the ability to deliver high quality, holistic care with an emphasis on working in partnership with children and their families. You will ensure patient safety, experience and clinical outcomes for baby and family is paramount, and support and enable the team to do this also.

Our Neonatal Unit is situated within Basildon Hospital, and is part of the East of England Network. The Neonatal Unit is a 19 bedded Level 2 Local Unit and offers comprehensive neonatal services, and a Transitional Care Service.
We work closely alongside the Maternity and Paediatric Departments here at Basildon as well as within the MSE network.
