Job Description

With a new Supply Chain Management (SCM) organisation in place, Fugro is on an exciting journey to accelerate growth and value creation. The Purchasing function has a key role to play in this context by delivering the most competitive cost base by building a strong Purchasing organisation. To support this, we are looking for a Purchaser to join the team in Aberdeen, reporting directly to the Purchasing Supervisor.

As Purchaser, you will support the Purchasing Supervisor in all Purchasing activities including purchasing goods, in particular hire equipment and services for Fugro and the implementation of new processes, systems and procedures as required from a National, Regional or Global level. Critical to success in this role is bringing the relevant professional, expert knowledge and experience in creating value for Fugro by assisting in the implementation of best in class Purchasing to help Fugro control third party expenditure in order to reduce bottom line costs and improve cash flow.

Who you’ll be working with:
You will need a collaborative, communicative and engagement approach with the business stakeholders in Fugro and with our external suppliers.

Here’s what a typical day would be like:
- Actively engage with the business and develop key relationships with business stakeholders and suppliers- Obtain quotes and negotiate best costing, delivery & quality for any goods or services dictated by the role- Use the designated Purchasing system to send purchase orders to the supplier- Execute on time delivery with suppliers of goods or services- Contribute to departmental & global KPIs for spend under control with a purchase order, several quotes per purchase, delivery performance and savings.- Identify cost reduction opportunities, preferential pricing, payment terms, and partnerships to bring more value to the business.

Who we’re looking for:
Essential- Previous experience working as a Purchaser / Buyer- Strong communication skills to nurture strong, collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, at all levels.- Experience in technical sourcing.- Actively focused on achieving sustainable results with a passion for success;- Ability to work well alongside peers, colleagues, managers and partners- Strong communicator- Financial acumen- Supports both internal customers and external suppliers by being attuned to their needs, adding value and builds strong relationships.

Desirable- Some basic QHSSE, legal and compliance knowledge
