Bar Staff

**Position Overview**: We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Bar Staff. As a valued member of our establishment, you will play a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our patrons. Your exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the overall success of our bar.

**Responsibilities**:
**Customer Service**:

- Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly and efficient service experience.

Take and process drink orders accurately and promptly.
- Ensure customers' needs are met by providing product recommendations and answering inquiries about beverages and menu items.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with tact and escalate issues when necessary.

**Beverage Preparation**:

- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following standard recipes and our establishment's guidelines
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all drinks by adhering to the prescribed recipes and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Handle and store alcoholic beverages responsibly, following local liquor laws and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of ingredients, garnishes, and glassware for efficient bar service.
- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and properly stocked at all times.

**Cash Handling and Point of Sale (POS) Operations**:

- Operate the cash register or POS system to process customer payments accurately.
- Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment securely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, transactions, and tabs.
- Account for any discrepancies or shortages in cash drawer or inventory and report them to management.

**Bar Maintenance and Cleaning**:

- Clean and sanitize glassware, utensils, bar equipment, and work areas regularly.
- Ensure the bar area meets hygiene and safety standards at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as restocking supplies, changing kegs, and replacing draft beer lines as needed.
- Assist in inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or low inventory items.

**Teamwork and Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with other bar staff, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate drink orders and prioritize tasks.
- Assist other team members during busy periods or when necessary.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior experience in a similar role preferred, but not essential. Willingness to learn and develop new skills is important.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing and serving beverages.
- Knowledge of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails and their ingredients.
- Understanding of local liquor laws and responsible service of alcohol.
- Cash handling experience and basic math skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 8-16 per week

**Salary**: £7.49-£10.42 per hour
