**GRADUATE/ JUNIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR**

**ROLE PURPOSE**:
To support the HS&E Director in the deployment of HS&E policy and the Head of Environment & Sustainability in the maintenance and continual improvement of the Environmental, Energy and Carbon Management Systems.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- Preferred Qualifications Degree in Environmental Management or equivalent or Post Graduate Qualification in Environmental Management

**OR**
- HND Environmental Management or equivalent Environmental Management System (ISO14001) awareness Energy and carbon management awareness Engineering/Construction experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- IEMA Associate Member ISO14001 and/or ISO50001
- Auditing Experience 1+ years appropriate experience in Mechanical/Process/Construction industry

**KEY COMPETENCIES**
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 50001, 9001, 45001
- Knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation
- Knowledge and understanding of greenhouse gas measurement and reporting
- Effective communication skills
- Effective report writing
- Effective document management

**KEY DUTIES**
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the company environmental management system, including ISO14001 certification
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the company greenhouse gas measurement and reporting system, including ISO14064 certification
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the company energy management system, including ISO50001 certification
- Provide environmental input to the overall company sustainability reporting process
- Provide environmental guidance and assistance throughout the company
- Carry out internal and supplier environmental/energy/legal compliance audits and reports
- Manage third party environmental audits and assessments
- Provide environmental assistance to external inspections (e.g. regulator assessments)
- Carry out periodic legal reviews and provide instruction to relevant parties on the requirements of legislation
- Ensure legal compliance with companywide responsibilities (e.g. ESOS, SECR, Packaging Waste Regulations etc.)
- Assist in developing and implementing the company wide environmental improvement programme Provide input to customer pre-qualification and proposal enquiries
- Identify potential environmental issues and areas of incident prevention
- Investigation and resolution of environmental issues
- Develop environmental awareness communications such as bulletins, toolbox talks, posters etc.
- Monitor and expedite close out of corrective actions and improvement actions
- Assist in establishing key performance indicators, medium
- and long-term targets
- Provide environmental input to project execution plans
- Monitoring and reporting of environmental management system performance
- Regular and effective communications with business, sites and other functions/departments
- Promotion of companies environmental credentials to external parties (e.g. customers, regulators, partners, local communities etc.)
