**The job itself**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our talented and committed team as a Kitchen Assistant. This is on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague who would thrive on the opportunity to make a significant contribution to school life within the kitchen.
- Food service in line with the requirements of good practice in hygiene, health & safety and food safety management. Including specific dietary needs and allergen awareness.
- Assisting in unloading and correct storage of food deliveries. This may include checking in deliveries, weights, quality and temperatures of foods.
- General kitchen and dining room duties, including preparing the room for service, which may include moving and setting up furniture, washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables.
- Cleaning of the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment.
- Compliance with COSHH and Health & Safety regulations and guidelines.
- Operation of kitchen and cleaning equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
- Where required, undertaking training to facilitate the duties of the job.
