**What you’ll be doing**:

- Performing calibrations and repairs on a wide range of mechanical and dimensional TMDE without supervision against set procedures and associated technical specifications, taking responsibility for own workload management against set timescales to meet customer requirements and operational KPIs
- Keeping full and accurate records of work activities carried out using company systems including recording results and non-conformances and managing these through to completion
- Using modern IT Software systems including support to software development and the creation of automation procedures
- Performing 'on the job training' (OJT) for trainee technicians and apprentices including development / consultation on training content and competency records
- Attaining signatory status and taking part in UKAS / ISO 17025 related audits and activities

**Your skills and experiences**:
**Essential**
- Comprehensive understanding of dimensional measurement systems and principles, including experience in the calibration and repair of dimensional TMDE
- Degree / HNC / HND in a STEM related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or equivalent experience including metrology background
- Understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025) and measurement uncertainties

**Desirable**
- Experience in use of CMMs and software platforms such as PC Demis, with a view to automating volume calibrations
- Familiarity with calibration recall database software systems

**The Engineering team**:
As an Engineer - Metrology (Dimensional Calibration), you will calibrate and repair mechanical and dimensional test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE), helping to support 50,000 pieces of equipment across the site; ranging from traditional mechanical equipment through to state of the art automated measurement systems.
