This is a great time to join the Theatres, Anaesthetics and Critical Care division (TACC) We have several major transformation and improvement projects underway, including the building of a multi-million, state of the art Day Surgery Centre at Castle Hill Hospital, as well as a major refurbishment of some of our older theatres at Hull Royal Infirmary delivering a programme of work that will benefit the community for years to come.

A vital responsibility for the post-holder is to maintain anaesthetic cover at all times in surgical/clinical areas across the Trust.

The post holder will be part of a discreet team of co-ordinators required to use both local and departmental knowledge to manage a large clinical workforce in a safe manner that ensures consistent high quality.

The anaesthetic department consists of circa 120 members comprising Consultants, Staff Grades, Trainees and Anaesthesia Associates who provide services across all areas of the trust. The post-holder will be responsible for planning, managing and co-ordinating the anaesthetic rotas and managing the live, online (CLW) rota system. As well as dealing with day to day unplanned changes to services.

The post-holder will provide a comprehensive administrative service to all clinical staff within the Anaesthetic Department; including authorising and processing annual leave, study leave, maintaining consultants’ schedules and job plans.

The post-holder will act as the first point of contact for all anaesthetic enquiries for Trust staff and service users. They will work closely with all services and departments which interface with Anaesthesia across the Trust.

**HUTH has two main sites**: Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £500 million. The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area.

The Trust’s secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services. These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.

HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
