The current Job Description is undergoing a review. The post holder will be responsible for: Clinical Outcomes 1. Leadership in Staff Training: Provide expert advice and leadership to clinical staff on the prevention and management of aggression throughout the Trust. Dedicate 25% to 50% of time to teaching within the PMA training department.
**2. Collaboration and Partnerships**: Establish partnerships and networks with key stakeholders. Engage service users, staff, and other interested parties in discussions on PMA training delivery strategies. 3.
**Continuous Learning and Best Practices**: Maintain, pursue and receive training to stay updated on trends and best practices. Participate in clinical audit, research initiatives, quality assurance, and clinical governance. 4. Service Evaluation, Policy Development and Strategy Development: Develop and participate in reviews of Trust-wide policies and protocols relating to or linked to PMA.
Lead and participate in projects to develop and maintain high-quality PMA interventions. Lead/support service evaluation and audit systems to plan training improvements. 5. Training Delivery and Quality Assurance: Facilitate training delivery.
Ensure PMA training aligns with national guidance and best practices. Develop strategies to embed policies and training in the Trust's culture. Provide specialist support services to clinical areas. Leadership Outcomes 1.
**Team Management**: Line management and clinical leadership of team members. Manage day-to-day operational/clinical issues. Oversee effective use of the delegated budget. 2.
**Staff Development and Recruitment**: Manage CPD, performance management, appraisals, and HR processes for identified staff. Recruit new staff proactively and maintain staff wellbeing/retention. Professional Conduct and Responsibilities 1. Communication and Information Handling: Provide and receive complex and sensitive information.
Communicate educational and practice information regarding PMA and risk management within NSFT and external organizations. Utilize various communication styles to match individuals' understanding and cultural backgrounds. 2. Expertise and Practice: Demonstrate clinical expertise through personal practice and development.
Ensure professional practice and adherence to Codes of Practice/Conduct and Trust policies. Always protect and maintain confidentiality. 3. Time and Workload Management: Manage own time and workload effectively.
Participate in supervision and meet with relevant managers to identify and address needs or emerging trends. Quality Outcomes 1. Legislation and Quality Standards: Act consistently with legislation, policies, procedures, and promote quality approaches. Maintain expert practice through continuous learning and personal development.
Work unsupervised while organising own workload to maintain and promote quality. 2. Service User Care and Risk Assessment: Support and attend appropriate forums, advising on risk assessment and management plans. Develop a quality culture using audit and training evaluation in managing violence and aggression.
**3. Benchmarking and Standards**: Assess and benchmark standards for practice through national forums, networks, and academic engagement. Equality and Diversity 1. Promote Equality and Diversity: Act in ways that support and promote equity and value diversity.
