Head Greenkeeper

**Greenisland Golf Club **is a picturesque and well established 9 Hole golf course located in Greenisland, just outside Carrickfergus. With a proud history spanning several decades our club has become a popular destination for golfers of all skill levels. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Head Greenkeeper (Course Manager)** to join our dedicated team and help maintain our course to the highest standards.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and operations, ensuring the course is presented in excellent condition for members and guests.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program, including turf management, irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control.
- Supervise and lead a team of greenkeeping staff providing guidance training and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Carry out regular course inspections, identifying and addressing any issues related to turf health, drainage, equipment or landscaping.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Collaborate with the General Manager, Greens convenor and council to develop and implement long term plans for course improvement and sustainability.
- Manage the maintenance budget ensuring cost effective practices and responsible resource allocation.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Level 3 qualification in Sports Turf Management or a related field is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role as a Head Greenkeeper or Deputy Head Greenkeeper, preferably on a parkland golf course.
- Strong, excellent knowledge of turf care, irrigation systems and golf course machinery.
- Expert in the use of greenkeeping tools and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
- Sound understanding of health and safety practices in a golf course environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with club members, staff and contractors.
