We have a temporary full-time placement opportunity available for a **receptionist**. You will be based at the **Eye Hospital, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headley Way, Headington, Oxford, OX3 9DU.**

The working pattern is Monday to Friday. There will be 3 shift patterns available 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm and will be allocated on a weekly rota. This is a **Band 2** role and the pay rate is **£9.49 per hour**.

**Main roles and responsibilities**:

- To provide a professional and welcoming reception service for all patients and visitors to the Service
- To deal with telephone enquiries and take accurate messages from patients, visitors and professionals
- To provide information to callers and visitors or refer on to other sources as appropriate.
- To deal with all incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution
- To receive deliveries of goods and packets, and arrange for their appropriate distribution, maintaining an accurate record at all times
- To ensure reception area is kept tidy and welcoming at all times
- To arrange appointments with patients in writing or by telephone
- To maintain an accurate and efficient administrative system for all clinical records and appointments
- To type confidential correspondence, reports or letters as required.
- To do any filing as required
- To do photocopying as required
- Any other general reception/admin duties that are required

**You will need to have**:

- Excellent telephone manner
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent customer service
- Experience in a similar role
- Excellent data entry skills
- Excellent Microsoft package knowledge
- Working in a confidential environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
- Use of EPR systems (desirable)
- Knowledge of NHS practices and procedures (desirable)
