Children's Residential Support Workers/shift

We would like to hear from qualified children's residential support workers who should ideally have some experience of managing a shift within a children's residential care home.
**This is an excellent opportunity **for an experienced Support Worker to take on a new challenge or for an experienced Senior or Shift Lead looking for a new opportunity.

**Please note,** the **salaries exclude sleep-in shifts** which are paid at £50 per shift.
We have full-time roles for those who hold their level 3/4 Diploma in Children's Residential Care/Young People Workforce to work in our 3-bed EBD Home in Hinckley, LE10.
**Role Summary**:
**You should have an understanding of how traumatic experiences such as abuse, and multiple placement breakdowns, sibling separation shape a young person's development.**
- **You will be a shift leader** who will be responsible for managing daily tasks and ensuring your team are supported
- Expected to build positive and professional relationships with young people and listen to their wishes and feelings and safeguard
- Support the young people with day-to-day needs including supporting them in their routines, communication, independent skills, leisure activities and hobbies
- Assist in the planning and preparation of staff rotas
- Ensure that the outcomes of children meet the standards set out in children’s legislation, and the homes working practices
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team both within the home and with external agencies
- Assist young people to identify unsafe, dangerous, harmful and abusive situations, individuals and groups
- Ensure an open culture is created so that children and young people feel they can complain and that they are listened to
