As an Early Careers Advisor you will play a key part in developing our Graduates to work on world-leading projects, tackling real world issues and to be the future leaders of STFC.

**Your responsibilities will be to**:
**Graduate Programme expertise**
- Provide operational coordination and administration of STFC Graduate and Student Schemes.
- Work with the Head of Graduate Programmes and learning and development colleagues to plan, continually improve and implement the Graduate and Student development programmes, ensuring that training and development is of a consistently high quality and supports the progression of the Graduates towards Chartered status/professional accreditation as appropriate
- Effectively represent and promote the schemes to potential recruits and partner organisations

**Manager/Supervisor/Graduate/Student support**
- Provide effective pastoral and developmental interventions to Graduates and Students, ensuring high levels of engagement and retention on each programme
- Provide pro-active and responsive advice, guidance and support to Managers, Supervisors, Graduates and Students

**Project delivery**
- Support the Early Careers Resourcing Team with attraction and recruitment activities (including interviewing and assessment centres)
- Plan and deliver keep-in-touch and induction activities
- Support the Head of Graduate Programmes to deliver a range of projects, ensuring compliance with all health and safety and safeguarding policies.
- Participate and attend as appropriate our annual outward-bound week and awards evenings.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of Graduate and Student programmes in the UK
- Experience of designing and/or delivering learning and development interventions and/or events
- Experience of managing/supporting graduates/students and/or those early in their career
- Strong organisational skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with an ability to develop collaborative relationships
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to convey information to a diverse audience of internal and external stakeholders

**We would love to hear from you if you have either of the below, but neither are essential**:

- HR or Learning and Development related qualifications, such as CIPD
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of early careers recruitment methodology and practices

**Commitment**

The Graduate Team is currently working in a hybrid environment with a minimum of 2-3 days per week on site. This role may require travel to other STFC and UKRI sites within the UK, and to university career fairs. Occasional unsocial hours may need to be worked to engage with students/universities and to facilitate the outward-bound week and other key events.
