The business specialises in design and engineering for the automotive sector, offering high quality products and complete after-sales support.
As the mechanical design engineer you will be responsible for the design, development and testing of new and existing products. Detailed responsibilities are: -- Designing and creating models of mechanical components via 3D modelling
- Creating part numbers and product BOM's
- Reviewing and approving mechanical technical deliverables
- Providing support with failure mode analysis and addressing quality complaints, working closely with component manufacturers to ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Supporting the sales, quality control, warranty and purchasing teams
- Creating fitting instructions using adobe in-design, SolidWorks and photoshop
- Creating power inspection programs for the quality control team
- Planning and leading multiple simultaneous projects
- HNC in mechanical engineering or higher
- Extensive mechanical design and testing experience in the automotive sector
- Highly proficient with 3D CAD, SolidWorks
- Solid experience with FEA structural Analysis, FMEA and Power Inspect
