To help achieve our goals, we are looking for a QA Tester to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within our Software & Web Development team to help deliver innovative digital solutions. We help our clients explore, understand and exploit new digital technologies and platforms to transform their businesses through a combination of advice, expertise and solutions.
**Your new role**
A great chance to play a part in the fundamental change we’re striving to achieve, you’ll need proven relevant experience and excellent cross-browser and cross-platform testing skills.
You will be working closely with the Project Manager, Developers and Business Analysts to track defects through to resolution, while working as a team to improve features and processes.
**Main responsibilities**
As a tester you will be expected to:
- work with teams, shaping products and systems then planning and executing the testing using the most appropriate approach.
- ensure that the software delivered is fit-for-purpose in the planned timescales.
- contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of testing
- write test conditions and test cases
- lead the testing at a ticket / task level, advocating for quality throughout the delivery process
- validate the system to ensure it delivers the business requirements and benefits, reporting status against schedule.
- be involved in releasing changes to the production environment.
- monitor software releases using the appropriate tools to gain confidence in the production environment
- deliver effective QA / Test best practices and create detailed and accurate bug/defect JIRA tickets.
- support the Test Automation strategy through effective tools and QA & CX/UX best practice
- champion quality continually improving team processes, and ensuring it adheres to overall Test Strategy.
- provide input into Sprint planning including test estimations of tasks
- keep up-to-date developments and best practices within the development, testing and new media.
**Skills and requirements**:
- at least two years' experience in manual software testing
- proven experience in creating, maintaining, and executing manual and automation tests
- a good eye for detail with regards UI and UX
- familiarity working within a SCRUM agile development environment
- experience with bug tracking tools such as JIRA
- experience working within a fast paced, continuous integration (CI/CD) delivery environment.
- a good understanding of software development methodologies and design patterns
- the ability to follow exact instructions and work to deadlines when required
- the ability to investigate issues, define them and follow them through on their resolution
- the ability to develop Test Plans, Test Scripts, define Test Data and Reports
- excellent communication skills
- a real enthusiasm for working as part of a friendly team in a fast-paced environment
- great at managing your time and prioritising your work
