About the role

The role of the Benefits Advisor is to provide a responsive and effective customer finance service to people we support and staff across the Certitude group.

Duties will include:

- To carry out completion of DWP forms, housing benefit forms, producing letters, reports and other data as required.
- To regularly review the benefits people we support receive to ensure people are claiming the benefits they are entitled to.
- To audit people we support bank account passbooks and cross check benefits letters received to ensure all are correct and people are receiving their full benefit entitlement.
- Maintain and collect information from services, to ensure an up-to-date customer database is maintained, to safeguard the smooth day to day running of the Customer Finance Department.
- To establish good working relationships with other professionals and agencies to ensure consistency of working and seek support and advice as required.

About you

To be a Benefits Advisor at Certitude, the following are essential:

- **At least three years’ experience of benefits advice**:

- **Experience in reviewing individual’s entitlement to benefits**:

- **Knowledge of the changes in welfare benefits/housing benefits****:

- **Ability to take the initiative to work through complex benefits issues**
