We have a great heritage and pride ourselves both on our reputation for excellence and for providing opportunities for our peopleAs Procurement Category Specialist you will, in support of all Leonardo Helicopter geographical locations, lead negotiations and manage contracts with suppliers. You will manage new bids, supplier sourcing and selection, building supplier strategies and work in close contact with the key stakeholders to manage the contractual aspects of new developments/improvements of existing arrangements.In this role you will be working in the Airframe Systems Category team managing key equipment such as the helicopter fuel system commodity. There could be opportunity to travel and there could be a mix of onsite and remote working. - Manage strategic sourcing of new equipment against technical specification and programmes requirements,
- Support selection of new suppliers and lead negotiation of appropriate contractual frame works
- Support new Customer programmes bidding activity
- Define Commodity Strategies to support business needs - technological, financial and programme
- Achieve cost reduction targets
- Negotiate terms and conditions/pricing contracts that support business requirements
- Draft appropriate bespoke contractual frame works to support complex acquisition, design, development and qualification programmes
- Manage complex design, development and Qualification programmes. Define strategies to procure commodities in regional and global markets
- Develop and consolidate business relations
- Aid in keeping project cost-effective by controlling costs and enhancing benefits
- Build strategies to encourage high levels of supplier performance
- Act as ultimate point of escalation for significant supplier issues
- Develop plans for better negotiations and cost reduction

**What we are looking for**:

- Relevant procurement or commercial experience with proven examples of;
Performance improvement against core objectives (e.g. cost reduction, schedule adherence, lead time reduction etc).
Negotiation, agreement and management of contracts for Procurements
Management of complex contracts including management of design and development programmes
- Degree / HNC in Business Management or Engineering (or equivalent) and/or MCIPS Corporate qualification or relevant experience within the Defence/Aerospace Sector or wider industry.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English;
- A proven ability to influence internally and externally and solve problems using own initiative.
- Advanced team working skills and capable of co-ordinating multi-functional team activity.
- Computer literate (particularly Microsoft Office Suite).
- Proven ability to work in international markets
- Able & willing to travel alone or as part of a team within the UK and overseas.
