Activsports are looking to employ a qualified Level 2/3 or 4 Primary PE/ School Sports Coach (wage will be based on level of qualification and experience, as well as number of hours offered).

We are small team of PE/ School Sport professionals that deliver PE, after school clubs and holiday clubs within Shrewsbury and the North Shropshire area. Our main focus is to build genuine PE/ sports partnerships with schools and academies, rather than working with as many schools as possible. We should not be compared with other football coaching companies and you can be certain that Activsports is a genuine and authentic sports provision provider.

Activsports Ltd are looking to recruit a PE/ School Sport specialists to work with primary schools in the North and Central Shropshire areas. The role will include the follow:

- To deliver high quality physical education lessons during school times for EYFS to year 6.
- To run break and lunchtime activities for all.
- To lead and manage extra-curricular sports clubs.
- To help assist with our school sports partnership in running year round sports competitions for the Market Drayton area.
- To run our holiday clubs at various locations across Shropshire during the school holidays.

Required from April 2024 (after Easter holidays). You will be given uniform, sports equipment and planning for the whole academic year as well as ongoing support and CPD from Activsports. Interviews and lesson observations will take place in March 2024. You will be contacted to arrange a meeting/ observation.

**Hours of work**
Between 9:00 and 4:30pm - Monday - Friday. Our current timetable that is on offer will be 5 afternoons of PE, 5 after school clubs and 3 mornings of PE. One morning is reserved for team meetings, and inter-school sports events and competitions.

**Please note**
This position is on a self-employed basis where you will be responsible for paying your own tax and NI at the end of the tax year. An employed option may also be available depending on qualifications and experience.

**Job Purpose**
This position primarily requires a children’s coach to effectively deliver child development sessions within primary school settings inline with the companies coaching programme and curriculum. The coach will be required to deliver our full range of programmes including; national curriculum PE lessons, structured sports leadership programme and classroom based activities.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**

1. To be an ambassador for Activsports Ltd representing yourself, the team and the company in the highest regards of professionalism and public image.

2. As an individual you are to be highly effective around managing and organising your time, ensuring that you arrive for work at the specified time which maybe in advance of when your coaching pay refers to. In most circumstances this refers to setting up coaching sessions in advance of the session start time.

3. To deliver our services inline with our coaching programmes guidelines, aims and objectives in a positive and inclusive manner ensuring that all participants benefit from the experience.

4. To encourage positive behaviour and when necessary creatively challenge negative attitudes in order to set and maintain a safe learning environment.

5. Accurately carry out administration duties such as completing the session register, consent forms and accident reports. Updating individual school files. These administration documents are sensitive and therefore must be kept safe and returned to the appropriate person at the nearest opportunity.

6. To understand and implement the policies and procedures of Activsports Ltd as they relate to the quality of service to the Children. In particular the health and safety, equal opportunities and child protection policy.

7. When applicable, involve the assistant coach in the delivery of the coaching session and to provide support and feedback where appropriate ensuring that they benefit from your knowledge and experience.

8. When selected to work on other projects an additional job description maybe provided. In this case it is expected that the coach should demonstrate an excellent work ethic whilst fully co-operating with all team members in order to achieve the aims and objectives of the project.

Enhanced DBS check
**At least one level 2 NGB sports qualification**
**Two or more level 1 NGB qualifications**
Have access to own transport
First aid certificate (within the last 3 years)
Safeguarding children certificate (within the last 3 years)
Must be confident to teach all areas of the PE curriculum
(Gym, Dance, OAA, Net & Wall, Strike & Field, Invasion and Athletics)

Level 2 or 3 certificate in supporting PE and School Sport in schools (PESS) or willingness to work towards the level 3 PESS qualification.

**Salary**: £16,000.00-£20,000.00 per year
