**The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our industry-leading client based in the Middlesex area. We are looking for an experienced 2IC/Assistant Despatch Manager to join the team.**

**Hours**: Monday to Friday with some weekends, 5am until approximately 2pm

**Pay Rate**: £13.58 per hour PAYE

**Location**: Middlesex, UB2

**Job Type**: Temp to perm

**The role**:

- Assist the Despatch Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the efficient coordination of parcel delivery and transportation activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Despatch Manager to develop effective transport routes, optimizing delivery schedules, and minimizing transit times.
- Monitor real-time tracking systems to ensure parcels are delivered on time and address any issues that arise.
- Coordinate with drivers and delivery teams to provide guidance, resolve problems, and maintain high levels of customer service.
- Assist in managing a team of drivers, including training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Step into the Despatch Manager's role in their absence, making decisions, delegating tasks, and ensuring seamless operations.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation related to transportation activities.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to senior management on ways to enhance department performance.
- Occasionally work on weekends as required to ensure operational coverage.
- The opportunity to progress into a management position within two years.
