Position Summary:
As a Pipe Layer at Infocus, you will play a crucial role in the construction of essential infrastructure projects. Working as part of a skilled team, you will be responsible for laying and installing various types of pipes, ensuring they are positioned correctly and securely according to project specifications. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will contribute to the successful completion of projects that improve the quality of life in our communities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lay and install various types of pipes including sewer, water, and storm drain systems according to blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
- Excavate trenches using hand tools, machinery, and equipment ensuring proper depth and alignment for the pipes.
- Assemble and position pipes, fittings, and valves in the trenches, and connect them securely.
- Perform tests to ensure pipes are leak-free and comply with project standards.
- Backfill trenches and compact soil to ensure stability and prevent settling.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, trenchers, and compaction equipment as required.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to maintain a safe work environment.

Skills/Abilities:

- Proven experience as a pipe layer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and operating heavy machinery.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labour in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Certifications:

- Valid CSCS Card
- Certification in pipe laying or related field.
- Experience working with different types of piping materials such as PVC, concrete, and metal.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
