We are currently recruiting a Lead Driver to support and lead a team of Bus Drivers with the new Demand Response Transport (DRT) we have in the **Bristol** area.

WESTlink is a new type of bus service which operates in the vast majority of the West of England, outside of Bristol and Bath city centres. This service runs without a fixed timetable or route, and is booked ‘on demand’ by users through the WESTlink app or by phone. Passengers can get on or off at existing bus stops (over 1,800) as well as at a number of easy to reach places, and then connect to major bus and rail services.

As the Lead Driver, you will oversee the day to day run out of vehicles for daily duty. You will work with the Traffic Manager (TM) to produce the six weekly inspection schedule and advise of the planned inspections/MOT/Loler requirements on a week by week basis.

**Hours**: 44 hours per week - Days and Nights / 4 days over 7

**Main Duties**:

- Work with the TM to plan the drivers work schedules to ensure the most efficient working practice and to ensure drivers do not exceed drivers’ hours legislation and that the required rest periods are adhered to and monitored.
- Carry out 3 monthly driving licence (monthly for those with points), driver CPC and tachograph card checks and record in an appropriate folder.
- Work with the Service Delivery Manager/TM during any recruitment process as required.
- Be the first point of contact for driving staff to deal with any day-to-day issues that arise.
- Reconcile all daily fares taken by drivers against the ETM reports and report and discrepancies.
- Assist the SDM/TM to ensure that statutory obligations as stipulated in the Operator’s Licence are met.
- Responsible for walk round checks of the premises and reporting back to the SDM/TM.

**What are we looking for?**
- PCV Licence Cat D/D1 (without 101 restriction)
- CPC certification is advantageous.
- Management/supervisor experience in a busy public transport environment (within the last 3 years)
- The ability to build strong, effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
- Meticulously organised with a proven track record of successfully reaching deadlines
