**TEMPORARY POSITION / SHORT TERM CONTRACT**

We are a family run business that has 2 nurseries & preschools in the Bristol area, one in Kingswood and one in Keynsham taking children from 6 months to school age.

At Orchard Lea Nursery & Preschool we are passionate about helping children get off to the best start in life.

We are looking to recruit a Nursery Housekeeper on a temporary short term basis only to work in our Kingswood nursery.

The role will be supporting the nursery with general housekeeping duties as well as supporting the Managers and Practitioners when required.

Training will be given

**THE ROLE**

The role will include (but not limited to):

- Ensuring the Nursery is kept clean and tidy both inside and outside to include:

- Cleaning, mopping, hoovering in rooms, communal areas such as staff room, garden area (sweeping leaves etc)
- Laundry
- Washing and drying - returning cleaned, dry items to correct places
- Organising washing and drying, keeping the laundry room tidy and clean
- Supporting new staff to learn the tasks of housekeeping to support the nursery
- Supporting rooms with lunch time as and when required and supporting room leads and practitioners ad hoc when necessary
- Stock take nursery cleaning supplies, upkeep of shopping list to replace items
- Recycling and ensuring rubbish is emptied when required
- The Nursery is supported by contract cleaners who come in twice a week to deep clean all areas of the nursery and also a commercial window cleaner that clean all external windows once a month.
- Working alongside a very supportive team who keep their individual work areas clean and tidy however, as our children are always our priority, sometimes we need some help
- Using the carpet cleaner to wash rugs
- PPE and training provided.

DBS Clearance is essential and will be processed as part of the recruitment process.

A valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate is desirable.

The nursery is supported by a strong administration team including HR coordinator, an EYP, SENCO and Forest School Lead. As part of the team you will be supported by your Room Lead, Deputy and Nursery Manager. Orchard Lea operates a buddy system.

**Hours**:
Monday 07:30am-13:30pm

Tuesday to Friday 12 noon - 18:00pm

The role has the following responsibilities:

- Good organisation and communication skills
- Supporting the upkeep of the nursery to provide a clean, safe working environment
