**Play Leader**

**JOB PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES**: The Play Coordinator will be responsible for delivering creative play opportunities in a well-organised, safe, caring, secure environment, through individual attention and group activities, and to organise appropriate range of leisure activities for children between the ages of 0-12 yrs old.

Dovecote Children & Families project is a community led project set up in 1996 delivering inclusive, engaging, integrated and effective services meeting the needs of disadvantaged young children and families.
- The appointment will initially be for 6 months with the potential for a further 6 months_

Start date: As soon as possible

Interviews to take place: TBA

Essential criteria;
- **A minimum of a Level 3 qualification**:

- Skills for and experience of promoting children’s development using the Early Years Foundation Stage and a high level of motivation to promote play and for work with young children and their families.
- Organisational and time-management skills including record keeping and literacy.
- Able to work independently and to use initiative.
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and safeguarding children.
- The ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure.
- Flexibility, including the willingness to adjust working hours to meet the needs of the setting, and to work weekends and evenings when required.
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure that children and adults have equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop. S/he must have an understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and anti-racism.
- The post holder must be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection and follow the correct reporting procedures
