**The Role**:
A great opportunity has arisen at Hovis we're looking for a **Hygiene Operative to join the Erith Team **to play a key role in supporting our Operations Team.

Our bakery is committed to providing a high-quality product to our customers in line with the Life Long Customer Loyalty programme.

**Role Purpose**:
To clean within the various factory areas to maintain / improve the set hygiene standards at all times, in line with customer requirements, to ensure continued mitigation of any food safety risks & to make certain the site is always audit ready every day.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Deliver best possible cleaning standards, consistent with both our own and customer expectations.
- To comply with all health & safety requirements and to inspire through best personal practice, excellent Health & Safety around him/herself.
- Comply with essential training and personal development (e.g completion of work instructions and other relevant documentation).
- Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained throughout all areas.
- To make a commitment to achieving the Company’s corporate goals.
- To work as a multi skilled hygiene operative within an effective and efficient hygiene team, delivering high standards of cleaning throughout the site in accordance with company, customer and legal requirements
- To consistently meet and exceed cleaning standards across the site in line with company, customer and legal requirements to include;
- To carry out general cleaning, high and low level, to site, plant and fabrication, both Internally and externally in accordance with site requirements, this includes but is not restricted to any critical cleaning such as ‘Cleaning in place’ (CIP) systems, for example yeast and holding vessels, for example Flour service bins and water tanks.
- To supply a first class service from delivery to issue of clean garments to all other departments on site.
- To maintain consistent supplies of clean baskets to production/Warehouse through unloading, transportation.
- To supply a first class service to production by cleaning utensils and equipment to a very high standard and to complete any associated documentation in line with such cleaning.
- remove all waste receptacles and empty via the appropriate waste streams and wash receptacles at the specified frequency
- To carry out critical checks, for example CCP’s in line with requirements.

**Desirable experience**:

- Good Verbal and Numeracy skills
- Experience of cleaning within the food manufacturing industry
- Experience of being a team player
- Flexibility within the department regarding hours of work and duties.
