**Role**:

- Autism (ASD) Specialist Teaching Assistant
- Preston (outskirts)
- Full time position, ASAP
- £65 - £75 per day, £12,675-£14,625 annual salary
- 'Good' school

**Requirements**:

- An experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who has worked with young pupils on the Autism spectrum.
- A strong understanding of the autism spectrum and how to use specific IEP's to provide effective support to this pupil.
- Able to keep the pupil focused on their work and be aware of any particular triggers that may cause a behavioural reaction.
- Have a variety of de-escalating techniques to help control the pupil and the situation, should it arise.
- Working with SEN pupils has to be a passion, as everyday will propose different obstacles for you to overcome.
- Have resilience and tenacity to persevere as this will be key in succeeding in a very challenging and emotionally testing position.
- Although challenging, it is hugely rewarding seeing a pupil progress under your guidance and makes all the tough times worthwhile
