**JOB TITLE**: Operations Assistant
**REPORTS TO**: Operations Duty Managers
**Purpose of the job**:
The core focus of the Operations Assistant is to ensure that each and every customer leaves Odds
Farm Park with complete satisfaction, through providing an enjoyable and safe environment for children and adults alike to interact in and participate in an engaging day out together.
The Operations Assistant role is varied and will comprise the delivery of processing guest’s admissions, retail sales, membership sales, guest services support, supervision of indoor and outdoor play activities, delivery of seasonal events, and maintaining the upkeep of the park. The Operations
Assistant is accountable for all activity and actions taken in their daily designated area, ensuring that the area is safe, clean and presentable, whilst providing a level of service that excels in every regard and is in conjunction with our core values.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Admissions and Retail.**
- Welcoming guests; processing admissions sales and ticket redemptions, greeting school and group visits, assisting with admitting birthday party visitors.
- Key focus on retail, and Annual Membership sales.
- Accountability for all activity within the Farm Shop; maintaining cleanliness, merchandising, stock levels and presentations to ensure our retail sales targets can be achieved and maximised.
- Provide support to guests with enquiries; answer questions, resolve issues, sign post activities, support lost property administration.
**Preparation and presentation of all areas across the Farm Park.**
- Ensure that all play equipment, floors, surfaces, storage areas, and front and back of house areas are maintained in line with OFP cleaning procedures prior to opening every morning and at the end of the day.
- Maintain the cleanliness and high presentation standards throughout the day.
**Supervision of the Indoor Playbarn.**
- Ensure that all customers who enter the Playbarn are able to enjoy all facilities in a safe and correct manner, following on from being provided with a clear understanding of any rules and regulations by the Playbarn Assistant.
- Ensure that every customer that enters the Playbarn leaves having had an enjoyable time.
- Is the first point of call for all customer enquiries and concerns in the Playbarn - specifically for assistance, injuries and first aid requests, and lost children/adults.
**Supervision and provision of seasonal activities and play areas.**
- Ensure that customers who enter play areas such as H2Odds or Marmalades Mini Rovers are able to enjoy the facilities in a safe and correct manner. Provide customers with a clear understanding of any rules, regulations, and instructions for use of these activities.
- Observe all guests while interacting with these activities in areas such as H2Odds and
- Marmalade’s Mini Rovers and providing support as required or requested.
- Those with a full UK driving licence may receive further training to fulfil our Tractor & Trailer Ride
- Farm Tours.
**Other occasional duties.**
- Provide assistance across all areas of the Farm Park. Be flexible and willing to help in all areas at minimum notice, and do so with enthusiasm. This includes assisting with catering, delivery of seasonal craft or entertainment activities, seasonal events such as Christmas or Halloween, and facilities and maintenance as required.
**To ensure day-to-day duties are delivered within the relevant Health and Safety policies.**
- Ensure that every customer understands all the relevant Health and Safety and security aspects of the respective areas within the attraction, whilst being fully sensitive to everyone’s needs and abilities.
**To promote the positive work environment.**
- Be a versatile team player, support team members, and have a genuine passion and interest for the farm park attraction.
**Person Specification**:
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for the role.
- Great, positive interaction and verbal communication, with both customers and colleagues alike - a natural optimist.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, with mixed customer and audiences, whilst being able to manage larger groups/volumes of people.
- Willingness to learn new skills and contribute ideas that will improve and support the team.
- Must be a strong team-player, whilst having the ability to manage situations on one’s own and confidently make decisions, whilst managing time wisely.
- A flexible and versatile nature.
The role will be 40 hours a week, across a 7 day rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
