Join AK Teaching as a Behaviour Support Assistant and become a key player in supporting primary-aged pupils with challenging behaviours.

**Role Description**:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with primary-aged pupils who may be experiencing difficulties in managing their emotions and behaviors. Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-on-one and group support, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. You will work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents to implement effective behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, fostering trust and a conducive learning atmosphere.

Implement behavior management plans, providing support and guidance to pupils in a compassionate manner.

Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations and prevent potential disruptions.

Observe and assess pupil behavior, documenting progress and reporting to the relevant stakeholders.

Collaborate with teachers to incorporate behavior support strategies into the daily curriculum.

Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce positive social skills and emotional regulation.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times while upholding the agency's values and policies.

**Requirements**:
Experience working with primary-aged pupils with challenging behaviours is desirable.

Strong understanding of behvior management techniques and de-escalation strategies.

Empathetic and patient approach when dealing with students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.

Flexibility and adaptability to respond to dynamic situations in a school environment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to the school's ethos.

Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field are advantageous but not mandatory.

**Salary**: £75.00-£80.00 per day

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cramlington, NE23 1LZ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Special education: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
