**LOTTERY FUNDRAISER**
**Salary Scale**:Overgate Grade HS4 - £25,132
**Hours**:22.5 hours per week (with occasional evenings and weekends as required) - actual annual salary for 22.5 hours £15,079.20
**Accountable to**: Head of Fundraising, Communications and Marketing

- Overgate Hospice is an independent charity with a mission to ensure that patients and those close to them live with the best possible quality of life. This is enabled by provision of the highest standard of compassionate and evidence-based specialist palliative and end of life care for adults in Calderdale who have active, progressive life limiting illness. _
**JOB SUMMARY**
As the Lottery Fundraiser, you will play a key role in the Income Generation Team, leading on the development and management of our lottery program.
You will serve as the primary contact for the lottery management company, fostering an effective working relationship and ensuring the monitoring of services aligns with the agreed contractual terms.
You will work on engaging existing Hospice supporters and attracting individuals new to the hospice supporter base, creating a targeted marketing plan for the acquisition of new lottery players.
You will develop stewardship activities focused on retaining existing lottery players, ensuring that lottery players are appropriately thanked, with a focus on sharing the impact of their support on the local community.
Collaboration with the wider Fundraising Team is essential, particularly in targeting corporate and community audiences. You will ensure a consistent presence of the lottery at all Hospice events.
You will develop working relationships with Lottery Fundraisers at other hospices, fostering understanding, knowledge-sharing, and identifying opportunities for further growth.
Working with the Individual Giving Lead, you will track player numbers and income, producing monthly reports that identify trends and concerns.
Reporting to the Individual Giving Lead, you will play a vital role in the busy and fast-paced
Fundraising Team. You will work closely with the wider Income Generation Team to ensure an effective and cohesive team, utilising each other’s skills to ensure the very best supporter care.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
At least 2 years’ experience in a sales or customer service role.
Must be educated to A-Level or equivalent experience.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST**
Contribute towards the development of a lottery strategy to maximise lottery income for
Overgate Hospice.
Act as the main contact for Sterling, ensuring an effective working relationship and monitoring service against the agreed contract.
Develop a programme of stewardship activities focussing on retention of existing lottery players.
Further develop the Overgate Hospice Lottery brand, producing a bank of effective marketing assets.
Develop a marketing plan aimed at gaining new lottery players, focussing both on existing
Hospice supporters and acquiring new people to the hospice supporter base.
Ensure lottery players are thanked appropriately, sharing the impact of their support on the local community through storytelling and social media.
Work with the wider Fundraising Team to promote the lottery, specifically targeting corporate and community audiences.
Ensure the lottery is represented at all Hospice events.
Recruit and manage a team of dedicated lottery volunteers to support the promotion of the
Hospice lottery in the community.
Work with the Fundraising Admin Team to respond to lottery queries and enquiries.
Develop working relationships with Lottery Fundraisers at other Hospice’s to gain further understanding and knowledge and identify further opportunities for growth.
Working with the Individual Giving Lead, track player numbers and income and produce monthly reports, identifying any trends and concerns accordingly.
Keep ahead of latest trends and best practice across the sector, reviewing other lottery’s marketing activities and identifying opportunities.
Complete regular checks to ensure all relevant compliance measures are in place and adhered to.
Explore the use of canvasses to generate addition income.
Explore the potential to increase the lottery unit price to £2.
**FUNDRAISING TEAM DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Maximise Income**
Ensure financial donations are processed and recorded correctly.
Ensure the gift aid scheme is promoted and encouraged.
Maintain full and accurate records for each fundraising initiative.
**Customer Service**
Ensure that customer service is professional and supports the ethos of the Hospice.
Support and advertise Hospice events, campaigns, and awareness issues.
Build relationships with supporters.
Promote the role of the charity in the community.
Ensure professional and friendly service is given at all times.
Accept all donations politely and professionally.
