We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate dietetic assistant to join the Community Nutrition Support Dietetic Service in Barnet.

The service supports adult patients who are referred for home enteral tube feeding (HETF), high risk of malnutrition, or complex obesity. For the malnutrition patients we adopt a food first approach and ensure appropriate prescribing of all oral nutritional supplements.

Under supervision you will triage, process team referrals, and book appointments for the dietitians. In addition you will undertake patient weight checks and reviews in their own home or in Care Homes in Barnet.

An interest in nutrition, public health and patient care is essential and you will need to have the ability to establish good rapport with health professionals, patients and care workers.

You will support the team with malnutrition training in Care Homes and help to develop resources and presentations as required. Data collection and service development will also be a part of this role.

- To provide administrative assistance and support to the Nutrition Support Dietetic Team
- To effectively manage a caseload of patients in the community requiring weight checks this includes booking patient appointments into either group sessions or travelling to patient homes
- To work independently under the supervision of Specialist Dietitians to undertake clinical and administrative tasks to support the development and delivery of the Nutrition Support Dietetic Servic
- To be responsible for organising own delegated clinical work load and administrative tasks and activities and to be flexible to the needs of the servic
- To be responsible for inputting clinical activity data into the relevant IT system and generate reports as required on a regular basis.
