OCU Nettworx (part of the wider OCU Group) are currently looking for a SHEQ Advisor to join their team in Huntly.

As a SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Advisor, you will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining a culture of safety, health, environmental stewardship, and quality excellence within the organization. You will provide expert advice, guidance, and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices, as well as driving continuous improvement in SHEQ performance.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Advisory Support**:

- Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to management, employees, contractors, and other stakeholders on SHEQ matters, ensuring understanding of responsibilities and promoting a proactive approach to safety and compliance.

**Compliance Monitoring**:

- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments to monitor compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions as necessary.

**Incident Management**:

- Facilitate the reporting, investigation, and analysis of incidents, accidents, near misses, and hazards, ensuring timely documentation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

**Risk Assessment and Management**:

- Assist in conducting risk assessments for various activities, processes, and projects, identifying hazards, evaluating risks, and recommending control measures to mitigate risks effectively and ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.

**Training and Education**:

- Develop and deliver SHEQ training programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders, covering topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency response, and regulatory compliance, ensuring awareness and competency in SHEQ-related matters.

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Stay abreast of relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to safety, health, environment, and quality management, ensuring compliance, and facilitating implementation of changes as necessary.

**Continuous Improvement**:

- Collaborate with internal departments and teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings in SHEQ management and operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives and sharing best practices.

**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of SHEQ-related activities, including inspections, audits, incidents, training, and compliance documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and accessibility as required.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Proven experience in a similar SHEQ advisory or related role, preferably within a regulated industry such as manufacturing, construction, or utilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments and levels of the organization, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Relevant qualifications in occupational health and safety, environmental management, quality assurance, or a related field are desirable.
