Senior Claims Adjuster

**The Role**
The Energy, Renewables, & Engineering claims team sits within the Short Tail Claims Division (alongside Marine, Specie, D&F Property, and delegated Property classes) as part of the UK and global claims function at Canopius.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the claims within the Energy, Renewables, Engineering & Heavy Industries portfolio, with a primary focus and responsibility for the Energy & Renewables portfolio.
- Ensure that sufficient financial provisions, in accordance with the Canopius reserving philosophy, are held for all claims within the portfolio and reported appropriately.
- Proactively adjust claims within their claims authority and in accordance with the Canopius claims manual; ensuring and delivering the very highest service to all our customers by effectively driving claims through to resolution.
- Nurture and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; in particular with the underwriters and actuaries for the relevant classes of business.
- Ensure delegated claims are managed in accordance with Canopius claims values; ensuring effective oversight of TPAs/service providers via regular reporting on key performance indicators, peer reviews, file reviews, and general sharing of best practice.
- Instruct and proactively work with panel lawyers, adjusters, and experts to ensure the best outcomes whilst controlling costs and reducing claims leakage.
**Skills & Experience**
- Working knowledge of handling complex claims in the Energy & Renewables classes in the London market (or equivalent setting).
- Ability to prioritise and proactively meet deadlines.
- A positive, enthusiastic and confident disposition.
- A passion for learning and a keen interest in current events.
- Ability to manage complex issues and problems, and escalate appropriately.
