Our client, A market leader in the provision of Integrated Stores and Supply Chain Management Solutions for Blue Chip Companies in the UK and Europe is looking for a driven individual to join their Buying team at one of their client site based in Clifton, York.

**As a Buyer, you will be responsible for**:

- Daily sourcing of various items such as MRO, PPE, Motor’s, Engineering equipment, and more
- Sourcing products from new and existing suppliers and using various tools to aid in this procedure
- Sending RFQs (Requests for quotes) and RFI’s (Request for information)
- Cross functional team working
- Dealing with price variances, lead time issues, plant stoppers (urgent item), and urgent items
- Use of SAP and other interfaces designed for our client
- Work on various targets
- Deliver contractual cost savings
- Communicate with the clients, suppliers, and engineers on a daily basis
- You will participate in tender processes for both existing and prospective clients

- Ability to work under pressure
- Enthusiastic and energetic
- Resilient and robust - the intellect and strength of character to deliver a key role in a demanding business
- Experience in negotiating and challenging the norm
- Able to use initiative when sourcing products
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long term relationships with clients and suppliers
- A good background in buying, possibly as a junior buyer or assistant buyer
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and a good knowledge of SAP
