**Royal Voluntary Service **has an opportunity available for a** Service Coordinator **to join our team.** **You will join us on a **part time**, **fixed term contract until 31/03/2025**, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of **£12.44 per hour (£22,706 FTE).**

**The role will be based either in our office at East Lothian Community Hospital, Alderston Road, Haddington EH41 3PF or there is the option to work from home.**

**About the Service Coordinator role**:
To co-ordinate, deliver and promote the patient transport service, as agreed with the Service Manager.

The core part of the role is communicating with volunteer drivers and assigning volunteer drivers to journeys assisting patients to get to medical appointments.

Will also regularly speak to patients to capture details of their appointments, complete risk assessments with them, and inform their who their drivers will be and the journey prices.

This role can either be performed from home or from our office in East Lothian Community Hospital, so you should be comfortable with not always having colleagues around you in-person.

To support the activities of the Hub with regards to any tasks regarded by the Service Manager as a team responsibility.

**Hours**: 25 hours per week:
Monday 0900-1530
Tuesday 0900-1530
Wednesday off
Thursday 0900-1600
Friday 0900-1600
(including 30 min break each day)

**What you'll bring as our** **Service Coordinator**:
Knowledge
- Good level of education to GCSE or Scottish Higher or beyond.
- Willingness to undertake training and continued professional development.
- Understanding of working within data protection laws.

**Skills**:

- Ability to provide appropriate support and supervision to volunteers.
- Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Excel especially, but also Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook. And the ability to learn a piece of software called Coldharbour.

Experience
- Knowledge and experience of recording data, monitoring and evaluating processes and maintaining databases.
- Experience of scheduling or planning.
- Experience of following complex processes.
