OP Courage, The Veterans Mental Health and Well-being Service is a NHS mental health specialist service designed to help serving personnel due to leave the military, reservists, armed forces veterans and their families.

The Midlands Veterans Op courage is a partnership of eight specialist organisations that provide an integrated service across the whole Midlands region. The Birmingham Hub covers the west-midlands regional geographic area and works closely with Veterans to provide a military cultural sensitive service, while ensuring care delivery meets and addresses the issues of complex mental health needs, spirituality, equality diversity and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation. The service is expected to travel across the designated West Midlands geographical patch to ensure ease of access for our Veterans.

You will to actively work with the OpCourage team based at The Barberry Centre in Edgbaston.

We acknowledge the importance of creating a supportive working environment and a good understanding of own leadership and management styles and understanding the needs of Veterans and military culture will be an advantage.

An integral member of the OpCourage Mental Health and Well-being Service, the PWP will deliver low intensity interventions as part of the provision of a service for people with mental health difficulties for Veterans aged 16 and over, supporting Clinicians by working within designated West Midland localities according to need.

The post holder will provide high volume low intensity psychological interventions for patients referred to the service for conditions such as anxiety, depression and associated clinical presentations.T

he purpose of the job is to deliver low intensity therapeutic interventions as part of the OpCourage Mental Health and Well-being service. These interventions will include a mixture of group, face to face, telephone and computerised CBT work.

An important aspect of the role is employment support and training for patients and the PWP will also play a role in the education, training and support in mental health and psychological issues for primary care professionals and other relevant agencies.
