Next Steps Mental Health Resourse Centre is a small Charity in Malton. We are professional, supportive, and our goal is to support people with Mental health issues and those who are isolated and lonely and deliver activities,support and signpost in their community.

Job Summary:
OVERALL, PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Support and network with People who suffer from mental health/Physical issues and organise weekly support sessions around their physical/mental/wellbeing needs.

To help in our community hubs across Ryedale.

Support the activity group leaders.

Lead a walking group weekly.

You may have to undertake MIDAS TRAINING. (minibus training)

To develop a programme and deliver “living well with “sessions. These sessions have already been developed but will need new sessions developed in the future. These sessions provide low level coping skills and support to live well with such conditions as, Diabetes, anxiety and depression, loss, living well in the community. Providing skills to remain well including physical and mental wellbeing.
- Providing support and signposting in the café style drop ins. Provide basic café style refreshments
- to cover annual leave.

Develop contacts with local communities and work with other agencies in delivering the activities.

Due to the nature of this post a good team player with excellent people skills and communication skills is essential.

**Job Specification.**

Liaising with NHS contacts re promotion of topics, content, target audience.

Promotion of topics on social media and locally.

Networking with other professionals re local need and promotion.

Devising sessions in advance of courses beginning including sourcing materials, visiting speakers, identifying local walks.

Leading sessions.

Booking venues/ creating space in existing venues.

Signposting people to other services as needed.

Attending community, one stops(events) and there being the face of Next Steps, making attendees feel welcome.

Maintaining an informal register of attendees for monitoring purposes.

Evaluation of courses.

Completion of grant monitoring to be shared and amended by manager if needed.

**Other things include**:
Staff cover for others within Next Steps as required.

Progress other initiatives on behalf of Next Steps.

Attend events on behalf of Next Steps as required.

Listening and problem solving.

**Skills needed**:
IT skills - MS Word, some Excel (not essential), Zoom.

Presenting skills - online and in person.

Time management.

Diary management.

Negotiating skills with range of other professionals.

Empathy and understanding.
- The ability to work on your own and as part of a Team
- An Understanding and Experience of supporting people with Mental health issues and Physical health issues.

**Salary**: £13.48 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
