**Group Head of Business Systems (Acting)**

**The Role**

This is a fantastic development opportunity for a Technology Leader who wants to take the next development step and test themselves at the next level.

This acting** **Senior Leadership role is accountable for the totality of Business Systems in the Bakkavor Group enterprise (UK, USA & China). The Global Head of Business Systems is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of all third-party and internally managed Business Applications (Supply Chain, Technical, Manufacturing & Finance) used to support all business process across the enterprise.

This individual will have solid technical experience, exceptional project management acumen, excellent vendor management skill, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to Business Systems.

This role is responsible for managing the Business Systems team and fostering an environment that challenges the status quo and consistently seek opportunities to re-engineer processes and re-architect solutions to deliver high quality, innovative, fully architected & strategic solutions. This will be accomplished through passionate situational leadership, inspiration, mentoring and exceptional management of a small team of IT professionals executing key initiatives through the full project management lifecycle.

As a member of the IT Senior Leadership Team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise wide IT strategy, and ensures its alignment with the enterprise business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.
- Understand business activities and its ambitions, strategically, commercially, and culturally, so as to ensure the effective and timely provision of technology to support Bakkavor’s strategy.
- Direct and deliver all associated programme of work and through this, develop a strong customer focus that attracts colleague buy-in to IT initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business Leadership Team (Exec -1) with regard to IT/commercial issues and form strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to gain support and cooperation for continuous change and improvement.
- Work closely to ensure that all business requirements are met by the IT function, with both technical and financial goals achieved.
- Build robust demand and supply-side governance of IT, and an effective business partner capability to ensure alignment of all parties to further enhance the working relationship with the wider business.
- Establish and improve service delivery levels for both current and future systems and formulate a shared service approach for all business units and countries within Bakkavor Internationally.
- Direct a team of direct reports specialising in Product Managers, Product Specialists/Experts (SMEs), Business Analysts, Architects and Delivery Lead/Project Managers.
- Lead a virtual team of up to 100 Heads and up to £20m budget (capex/opex), with the support for their internal team and external partners ensure both internal resources and 3rd party partners have the capability to deliver against the plan.
- Advocate transformation, through building and leading a virtual team of specialists who inspire others to act and deeply reflect Bakkavor IT’s passion for technology, a new innovative culture & diversity.
- Explicit responsibility of budget planning and delivery to target, including determination of investment requirements across the 1 to 5 year timeframe.

About you:

- Exceptional track-record of technical leadership where service quality and security is a priority.
- Strong commercial acumen and a history of making innovative and profitable decisions with respect to IT.
- Strategic insight & deep content expertise in defining and executing a long-term systems strategy within a significant IT environment.
- Proven internal/external stakeholder management ability.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a commercial, pragmatic and entrepreneurial environment where pace and execution are a pre-requisite.
- Experience of IT management at scale, strategic and operational, within a high transaction volume / high availability environment.
- Track record of executing major IT programmes and for managing the enhancement and upgrade of a complex systems environment.
- Proven hands-on delivery leader, comfortable delivering at pace with period of uncertainty.
