**Job summary**:

- An excellent opportunity to support the Governments of Guernsey and Jersey (the Channel Islands) as part of the Channel Islands Brussels Office (CIBO) leading on fiscal affairs. The Fiscal Attaché will lead on all EU tax matters of significance for the Channel Islands.**Job description**:

- The successful applicant will cover a range of tax-focussed policy areas, and will be responsible for analysing, reporting and advising on these. The applicant will help the Channel Islands Brussels office strengthen relations with EU stakeholders by facilitating policy discussions, monitoring changes to the tax policy environment and providing high level analysis, briefings and technical advice on EU tax policy development. The applicant will build a network of contacts across the EU institutions, Permanent Representations, and third country Missions, relevant trade associations as well as at senior official level with the governments of both Jersey and Guernsey.**Person specification**:

- 5-8 years of professional experience working on tax matters; this experience could be within a government capacity, or within industry/consultancy firm;
- Tax specific expertise in direct/indirect international taxation
- Knowledge and experience of engagement with EU institutions;
- Understanding of the EU legislative and regulatory process;
- Excellent team-working, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills including experience working with senior representatives of government and industry
- Ability to work well in a small team, with the skills to respond flexibly to changing priorities;
