Due to on-going success, an outstanding opportunity has become available for a Centre Lathe Turner to join their well-established and respected engineering organisation, with a growing and stable client base in the electrical / mechanical service industry, serving large manufacturing and utilities organisation across the UK.

DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Machine Shop Team Leader, your role will be to participate in mechanical engineering, maintaining, repairing and creating equipment to minimize downtime and maximise operating effectiveness and efficiency for their customers.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (DAY TO DAY):
Your routine duties may vary, but will be expected to:

- Use of all standard workshop machinery
- Measuring and checking all mechanical parts associated with motors and pumps
- Detailing and producing drawings to manufacture new parts
- Carrying out repairs and manufacturing new parts
- Reclaiming worn or damaged shaft areas using Metal Spray equipment
- The use of high-speed machinery, including lathes and milling machines
- The use of balancing equipment
- Checking and calibration of various measuring equipment
- Ensuring tools and equipment are correctly stored and maintained
- Attendance and contribution to daily SQWASHE meetings in your department

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

- Assisting with any other duties as and when required
- Attending Customer site’s as and when required
- Attending relevant internal meetings as and when required
- Attending training courses either internally or externally as and when required
- Ensuring continuous improvement within the Machine Shop Department in line with the

business objectives

OBJECTIVES:

- Working to procedures at all times including safety
- Ensuring a safe and clean work environment

ABILITIES / SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Good understanding of the Electro-Mechanical Industry
- Good communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential:

- Time served or have at least five years commercial industrial experience
- Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

- Experience of working within an Electro-Mechanical Industry

**Salary**: From £17.05 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
