**Job description - Highways Operative**

Due to recent company expansion, we are looking for Highways Operatives to join our growing team, based at our site at Walton Summit, Bamber, Bridge, Preston. This role will require you to be available to work on sites across the North-West.

This will be an opportunity to support the maintenance and enhancement of the highway network and provide long term benefits for residents, visitors, and businesses.

We are looking for someone with experience of working within highway engineering fields, preferably with specific experience of delivering highways maintenance schemes and new construction schemes. As this role involves working on the highway network, we also require someone with an awareness of Health and Safety Legislation pertaining to highways maintenance and traffic management.

**T**he Role

We are looking for someone with experience of working within highway engineering fields, preferably with specific experience of delivering highways maintenance schemes and new construction schemes. As this role involves working on the highway network, we also require someone with an awareness of Health and Safety Legislation pertaining to highways maintenance and traffic management.

**Job responsibilities**:

- Black and white top reinstatement and carrying out defect repairs on existing works, must be confident in all types of reinstatement.
- You will specifically focus on kerbing, paving, and resurfacing of footways and carriageways in accordance with highway specifications.
- Adhere to Health and Safety Law and Policy
- To carry out as requested all Operational functions in line with safe working practice.

**Requirements**:.
- Full UK driving licence
- Class 2 and 1 licence - desirable.
- Street works certificates - desirable.
- Minimum 2 years' experience

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime - as and when available
