The Role

Working as part of the Global Data Team the Data Validation SQL Analyst will be key to ensuring the accuracy of corporate asset management data to enable key strategic improvements.

Reporting into the Master Data Manager, the Data Validation SQL Analyst will be responsible for preparing and running data migration test cases to ensure the planned maintenance system has been prepared accurately, and preparing management information reportswhich demonstrate the outcome of the migration in a comprehensive way.

The Data Validation SQL Analyst will liaise with stakeholders within Carnival Corporation’s brands to share outcomes from analysis and to allow them to gain further insights.

Accountabilities
- Accountable for preparing and running migration data test cases using SQL knowledge and testing software to ensure the test answers the required question to give confidence in the data
- Track test completion and output, preparing Azure Dev Ops (ADO) outcome tickets for further review of resolution where discrepancies are found
- Produce SQL code to pull data from the required databases to answer test cases which cannot be answered through the testing software
- Identify and undertake analysis on areas of data to identify key themes and insight
- Produce reports in the most appropriate format (e.g. Power BI or PowerPoint) to ensure the results of the analysis and subsequent recommendations are presented in an accessible way
- Identify improvements in processes or technology and feed these back to the Master Data Manager for discussion and implementation

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK09 and is offered on a full time permanent basis.

Qualifications - essential:

- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Experience on technical data teams and/or projects
- Experience of undertaking data testing in database migration project
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Experience in using relational databases as a data source
- Knowledge of SQL; querying database environments
- Expert in Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of BI Tools, e.g. PowerBI
- Strong communication and presenting abilities
