Workshop Supervisor

Wavecon is a Hartlepool manufacturer of subsea cable harnesses and connectors for use on remotely operated subsea vehicles. The business has been established for 3 years and we are now entering an exciting growth phase. To keep up with this growth, we are looking to expand our manufacturing capability with the addition of a Workshop Supervisor. The role will predominantly involve supervising all aspects of the manufacture facility, but will entail, from time to time, stepping in as an operative to assemble and overmold connectors and cable harnesses during peak periods and hence will suit someone looking for a supervisor role with some hands on working. As the production team grows over time, the role will eventually move to be fully supervisory.

Day to day task will comprise:
**Workshop Supervisor**:

- Planning, coordinating and directing activities to small team of staff.
- Primarily overseeing daily operations, making sure production cycles are met.
- Kitting and scheduling all projects.
- Ensure that the workshop and bench areas are kept clean and organized, introducing new systems where needed.
- Manage goods receiving and dispatch.
- Manage parts, consumables and tooling inventories and periodically report stock levels and highlight low stock.

**Cable Harness Overmolding**:

- Cable cutting and terminating.
- Crimping, soldering and terminating cables and contacts.
- Cable/Connector encapsulation and overmolding.
- Cable Testing and QA.

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Previous experience overseeing and manufacturing within a similar environment is preferred. Experience in working to demanding timescales and managing multiple projects at any one time is desirable.
- The ability to work with little supervision and experience in managing others is desirable.
- A motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a forward thinker with ideas to support production optimisation and new product ideas would desirable.
