PCAS Kent offer support, county wide, to individuals living in supported living locations, as well as in their own homes within the community, who are diagnosed with having a learning disability or mental health.

**The Role**
No two days are the same and you will deliver person-centred support to this gentleman, whilst promoting his independence, and helping to achieve his goals and aspirations. Some tasks involved in the role will include:
- Good understanding of autism. Including the ability to recognise non-verbal
communication cues
- Experience in epilepsy
- Experience in working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviour
- Physically active, including able to walk up to 5 miles during a single activity session
- Clear communication skills
- Confident swimmer
- Calm
- Good sense of humour
- Able to work under your own initiative, but also as part of a small team.
- Patient
- Able to follow set activity planners, whilst also be flexible in approach
The role will be working with a gentleman who is autistic and has a learning disability and epilepsy. He is a very active gentleman with a great sense of humour who enjoys going out for walks, swimming, trampolining, horse riding, bowling, going to restaurants and more He loves to stay busy throughout the day and your role will include supporting him with a variety of daily living activities as well as going out into the community. He benefits from structure and a routine and will follow a daily planner; it is important that you support him with this and have a good understanding and use of alternative forms of communication. This is a great opportunity to work with someone where you will be able to really make a positive impact by helping him to develop skills and independence but most importantly ensuring he has a happy and fulfilling life
Weekend work is expected for this role, along with the occasional bank holidays. Current shifts include:
**The current working hours will be a Tuesday and a Thursday between 9:00am and 4:30pm every week.**

Experience would be beneficial for this role due to the needs of this gentleman with full training will be provided.
