**Job description**:
This is an exciting time to join IfATE as we start to implement our new responsibilities under the Skills Act. Our role is to transform the skills landscape by improving access to high quality apprenticeships and technical education. You will be part of an organisation that works to help people of all ages and backgrounds have the opportunity to maximise their potential, contribute to improving social mobility and the UK’s productivity.
You will be a good communicator, able to work in a team and be prepared to take on responsibility, as appropriate. Experience of working in a governance related role would be advantageous.
**Person specification**:
- Organise IfATE’s formal corporate governance meetings effectively to ensure they run smoothly, giving careful attention to stakeholders’ diverse needs, accessibility and inclusion and meeting logistics.
- Support the commissioning and issuing of formal papers for governance meetings within agreed timescales, following the appropriate clearance processes, to ensure papers are of high quality and meet corporate standards.
- Facilitate electronic business procedures where required.
- Maintain and manage Board member operations and administration, for example, Conflicts of Interest log.
- Respond to Board member enquiries, escalating where necessary.
- Ensure effective and secure document management processes are followed for key governance documents, taking responsibility for secure information management. Deliver high standards of security in record keeping.
- Support any governance reviews of IfATE.
- Assist in the identification and driving forward of opportunities for best practice processes and ways of working, and support colleagues to deliver objectives in line with IfATE’s values.
- Supporting the wider Legal & Governance team with ad hoc duties.
**Essential skills**
- Experience in organising and delivering high quality meetings and events.
- Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and administrative skills.
- Proven experience of taking ownership of own work and being proactive and self-led in successfully delivering quality outputs to deliver the greatest value.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage your time in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient use of key Microsoft Office packages including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Evidence of developing effective and long-term relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Working flexibly is important to the success of the Institute, and while you will have specific responsibilities as set out above, you will be part of a ‘one team’ approach and may be asked to be involved in a range of other activities. As new areas of work progress, you may be asked to move between teams to deliver the Institute’s key priorities.
