**About the Role**:
The Kelvedon and Feering Health Centre are seeking to recruit a medical secretary to join our well-established practice on a full-time basis. The post-holder will be responsible for completing referrals and secretarial work.

This is an essential front-line role at the practice, providing an efficient, comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the practice management team.

The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Type letters and medical referrals dictated personally from tasks or handwritten by clinicians, using the appropriate proforma, template or headed letter.
- Refer via e-referrals system and other referral pathways.
- Any other typing requested by the clinical team.
- Type all letters and medical referrals promptly, prioritising those marked as 2ww or urgent.
- When referrals/results need chasing or waiting times queried, contact the appropriate consultant’s secretary/hospital.
- Any other secretarial duties requested by the Doctor’s or Management team.

You will have the following skills and experience:

- Strong audio
- and touch-typing skills;
- Administrative experience and good organisation skills;
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology;
- Proficiency in the MS Office package, as well as excellent general IT skills and experience of working with a clinical system;
- Experience in read-coding and work-flowing clinical documentation;
- Ability to 'think on your feet';
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly approach;
- Understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and data security, at all times;
- Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure; Ability to work as part of a team, as well as being comfortable working independently.**About Us**:
We are a small but busy SystmOne practice and have a practice population of approximately 7,600 patients. Our CQC rating is ‘Good’. We have an incredibly supportive administrative/reception team with good management systems in place.
