We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join our busy cardiovascular/transplant team. The role of Clinical Trials Assistant is an interesting and varied role. We conduct a wide array of research including, but not limited to interventional, surgical, and CTimp studies. These include commercial and academic studies.

Our priority is our lovely patients who take part in these studies, often giving up their own time to do so. We also must honour our commitment to the sponsors of the study to deliver research accurately and on time.

In this role there is much to learn, but training needs and attainment of competencies will be supported.

Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out nursing procedures.

Responsible for the safe custody of medication, including checking.

Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.

Ideally we would like someone with research experience, or a background in this speciality.

- Communicates effectively with research team and study participants and their family members. Is able to provide patients with information, which may be complex or sensitive, regarding their participation in the clinical trial and the care that they will receive as a consequence of that.
- Facilitate the recruitment of research participants in to low risk research studies, which is likely to include quality of life and tissue sample collection studies.
- Support the research delivery team to successfully deliver a broad ranging portfolio of clinical trials.
- Coordinate and supervise housekeeping duties and ordering of all clinical trial supplies.
- Co-ordinate the collection transfer and storage of blood / tissue samples in accordance with the Human Tissue Act 2004 as required by trial protocol.
