We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Specialist Mental Health Dietitian to join our friendly team.

You will be responsible for a varied clinical caseload providing a specialist dietetics service to our mental health inpatient units including acute admissions, rehabilitation, forensics, older peoples services, as well as CAMHs. You will support service users with a variety of physical and mental health conditions including nutrition support, enteral feeding and the management of long term health problems.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to be involved in quality improvement projects, staff training, audits, research activities and pathway development.

Experience of working in a mental health setting would be desirable although not essential. A working knowledge of behaviour change and motivational interviewing would be beneficial.

- To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical input to designated services within local mental health inpatient services at Springfield Hospital.
- The post holder will work with service users in acute admissions, rehabilitation, older people’s services and also CAMHS areas, providing assessment, treatment planning and provision for service users with complex nutritional and psychological needs.
- To ensure that there is dietetic advice to support the monitoring of the Trust’s catering contracts and delivery of a positive patient experience at mealtimes
- To provide training and group sessions to staff and service users and carers on nutritional issues relating to mental health.

**About our locations**:
Springfield University Hospital, Tooting

Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities. A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon. Close to shops, cafes and Tooting Bec on the Northern Line plus Earlsfield and Tooting rail stations and bus routes.
- To undertake clinical assessments and appropriate dietetic intervention for service users within the mental health inpatient services at Springfield Hospital. This may include service users in acute admissions, rehabilitation, forensics, older peoples services, as well as CAMHs.
- To work with clients with complex physical and psychological needs, using outcome measures as appropriate.
- To undertake anthropometric measurements and interpret biochemical data as part of the dietetic assessment.
- To run group sessions and workshops for service users on a variety of nutrition topics
- To provide training to ward staff on nutrition related areas
- To be actively involved in clinical team meetings, wards rounds, community meetings and care plan review meetings as required.
- To support with menu reviews and dietetic advice to support the Trust catering contract
