Kalmer Counselling are looking to employ school counsellors who are passionate about working with children and young people, experienced in working with autistic clients and are committed to providing a high level of therapeutic care to their clients.
The position will be to work in either primary, secondary or alternative provisions within Northumberland. Providing an integrative therapeutic approach in order to deliver short term, long term 1-1 counselling and group work with children and young people.

The post is part time 1 day per week.
**The post is term time only and the full-time pro rota pay is**
**£25,225.00 - £32,456.00**

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

- Essential_
- A professional counselling qualification at diploma level
- Possess relevant experience working therapeutically with adults, parents, children and young people.
- Hold or be working towards British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited membership as a counsellor
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Patience, tolerance and sensitivity
- Possess an understanding of the key issues impacting on children and young people’s lives and have the relevant experience of working within a school system.
- Ability to liaise as necessary with other agencies and individuals to help effect positive change based on the issues raised by Children and Young People
- A current enhanced DBS disclosure will be required
- Driver's licence

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To work within the BACP Ethical Framework for the counselling professions
- To work effectively within a school system communicating to designated school staff in order to co-ordinate effective counselling provision for their pupils.
- To provide counselling assessment for adults, parent, children and young people.
- Regular reviews with parents and schools
- To provide accurate and timely reports/paperwork in order to contribute to effective monitoring and evaluation processes
- To provide information and advice to multi agency staff regarding your work

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £25,225.00-£32,456.00 per year
