The Caxton Surgery has an opportunity for a prescription clerk / receptionist to join our friendly practice team who look after 14,000 patients in the Oswestry area.

We are looking for someone ideally with General Practice or Chemist/Pharmacy experience who is used to the handling or processing of presciptions and/ or medicines.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

- Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are processed. Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
- Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
- Sending out review letters.
- Medicine management - liaise and discuss any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
- General ad hoc administration work.
- Flexibility to cover other areas when required - multi-skill mix.
- Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 32-37.5 per week

**Salary**: £20,500.00-£21,500.00 per year

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)
- General Practice / Pharmacy: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
