**Job description**:
DIO Regional Delivery Overseas and Training (OS&Trg) provides a range of infrastructure and training support functions across the UK and overseas. The organisation is Head of Establishment (HoE) for the UK Defence Training Estate, provides direct training support to UK Armed Forces and wider MOD, in addition to supporting Cadets, other Government Departments and foreign armed forces. We provide these services overseas in Germany, Canada, Kenya and Belize, where we are not HoE.

The Overseas Region & UK Defence Training Estate, delivers a safe, balanced place to train. We do this by running and developing hard, soft and rural services, and providing training advice and mentorship to help our Armed Forces and other organisations to use the military training estate more optimally and efficiently.

OS&Trg lead all aspects of the provision of a Training Estate that is of the right size and standard against the endorsed need, fit for purpose, safe, well lead, balanced and critical to social and environmental considerations.

**Person specification**:
Coordinate and support the range team to deliver DIO Outputs and demonstrate a personal commitment to the DIO Guiding Principles.
Assist others to promote, develop and maintain effective liaison with the Public, Industry Partners and the wider MOD in order to cultivate collaborative working, safeguarding DIO’s reputation, and maintaining the consent to train.
Support their TSO in maintaining effective liaison with DIO, the IP and local stakeholders in order to foster collaborative working, safeguard the reputation of the MOD and maintain consent to train
Ensure compliance with mandatory regulations e.g. H&S, Fire Safety and Explosive Safety and contribute to the provision of a Safe Place to Train in accordance with JSP 375.
Support the TSO in maintaining the ecological and environmental sustainability of the training area, consistent with environmental designations and provide advice to conservation bodies, interest groups and the wider public.
Work with the TSO to ensure inspections are conducted in accordance with current policy and initiate repair work as required.
Manage and de-conflict competing users' training bids, minimising conflict, maximising optimum training benefit and providing advice to ensure users achieve training objectives.
Brief and advise users on safety procedures and conduct of training, exercising sufficient control over users to ensure the ranges remain a safe place to train.
Routinely patrol the ranges as appropriate.
Host user pre-training visits and advise on how to achieve optimum training benefit.
Monitor and report Byelaw violations and unauthorised incursions whilst ensuring all reasonable precautions are taken to safeguard the public.
Act as On Call Duty Officer where appropriate
Be prepared to provide TSM support to other sites in the Region for major events or incidents

**Desirable Experience & Skills**

Unit Fire Safety Manager
H&S/ Risk Assessment Qualification
Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience of delivering briefs to an audience.
Good leadership skills and experience of managing teams.

**Environmental Factors / Hazards Associated with the Post**

A mixture of outdoors and indoor working environments; hazards include proximity to firing and where needed the removal and accurate disposal of ammunition and pyrotechnics.

**Licences**:

- Full UK Driving Licence - due to location and size of the training area there is a requirement to drive white fleet vehicles**Qualifications**:
