We have a new vacancy for a Technical Author to join a well-established, Bedfordshire based leader in the development of special purpose machinery and automation systems for the food and beverage manufacturing industry.

The Technical Author will be required to produce full and accurate Operating & Maintenance manuals for a range of the innovative and flexible manufacturing solutions equipment for this fast-moving industry sector.

As the Technical Author, you will be tasked with:

- Produce full and detailed Operating & Maintenance Manuals for the equipment, both new and existing.
- Monitor all standard equipment and update the O&M Manual with any changes made to these.
- Liaise with other departments to gather all information, drawings, parts lists etc required to produce the manuals.
- Collate any 3rd party information required for use in manuals - operating instructions, certificates, diagrams etc.
- Ensure that the manual filing structure is kept up to date and any manuals can be accessed by relevant staff as required.
- Assist the Technical Department with other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Good understanding of engineering (Mechanical & Electrical)
- Recent and relevant experience of technical writing - producing standard operating procedures and maintenance manuals.
- Any Instructional designing experience would offer a distinct advantage.
