**Finance Business Partner (Fixed Term Contract)**

**£31502 - £43155 DOE**

Our public sector client is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their team based in Dundee on a 12 month fixed term basis.

**Main Purpose of the Role**:
As a member of the organisation's Finance team, the purpose of this role is to produce and embed a process for costing the numerous scientific facilities across the business. The post holder will work with a range of stakeholders to implement compliant recharge mechanisms for the scientific facilities across the business.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Identify the costs for each service area and whether all costs are applicable to all the variations of services provided- Develop a template that is repeatable, scalable and is relevant across all facilities- Ensure compliance with external funders requirements- Work closely with facility managers and other stakeholders to ensure a robust and compliant process is established for the charging of facilities to research projects based on actual usage- Provide full and comprehensive documentation of the project and outcomes- Support the organisation's wider corporate governance requirements in relation to finance for internal and external audit and compliance with external funder terms and conditions- Promote a risk management approach to operational activities, particularly around the 'financial' risks- Provide guidance to non-finance staff on core financial rules, including, for example, the interpretation of management information, finance policies and accounting standards- Support continuous improvement across the operational business; promoting best practice, facilitating change, ensuring that internal financial controls are robust and that new corporate finance initiatives are supported and implemented**Key Skills and Requirements**:

- Fully AAT or part professionally qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) essential although fully qualified is desirable- Experience of internal and external reporting within an organisation of comparable size- Experience of communicating financial information to non-finance specialists at all levels across the organisation- Knowledge of the Higher Education sector desirable- Experience of costing (ideally in a manufacturing or service industry) and building costing models- High degree of systems literacy- High level, hands-on IT skills with experience of development and achievement in the provision of management information- Capable of dealing with technical accounting issues- Able to build effective working relationships with financial and non-financial managers across the business and outside- Able to explain complex financial issues to a non-financial audience- Able to work at both a detailed level and a strategic level- Good team working skills- Adaptable and open to change
